キティ

赤ワインとジンジャーエールで作るカクテルですが

英語ではKittyと言わないようで、ぐぐっても出てきませんでした

Ginger Red Wine Spritzer というのがいちばん似ているのかなと思います



先週、とにかく暑い日が続いたので

冷えた赤ワインが飲みたいなあと思いまして

でもただ冷えた赤ワインじゃなぁなんて思ったので

赤ワインに冷蔵庫にあったスプライト混ぜて飲みました！

キティの前振りはなんだったんだって感じですが・・・


メルローにスプライト

邪道だなあとも思いましたがなにげにおいしかったです

夏の暑い日にはまた飲んじゃうかな～



余談ですが

オーストラリアに来てまもなくの頃

バーでシャンディを注文したところ

店員さんもバーテンダーも「シャンディ知らん～」とのことだったので

ビールとジンジャーエールを半分づつで割ってと頼んだら

「ジンジャーエールってなに～？そんなんないわ～ジンジャービアのこと～？」

当時私はジンジャービアなるものを知らなかったのでじゃぁそれでいいわ～とお願いしたら

こんなんがきました

生姜入りビール風味のノンアルコールドリンク

冷えてて炭酸だったんでさっぱり飲めたけどね

ジンジャーエール知らないってことにとにかく驚いた記憶があります

カクテルは呼び名もレシピもお国柄がでるんでしょうかね

私はあまり詳しくないのでそれ以来バーでカクテルを頼むことはなくなりました

Deep Woods Estate Award Winning Wine

Deep Woods won a Gold Medal at the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards for the 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
Deep Woods won 1 of only 4 Gold medals awarded to Western Australian wines, and received a total of 7 medals from the competition.
Deep Woods Estate was awarded two Trophies at the 2012 Qantas Wine Show of WA Mt Barker. The 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the Ian Tyler Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon and the the Trophy for Best Red Wine of the Show. (News from Deep Woods Estate HP )

Wine Tasting Party@ Home Report

The Fourth Wine Tasting Party @ Home was really awsome !

I chose two whites from Deep Woods Estate

Deep Woods Estate Sauvignon Blan 2012
Deep Woods Estate Verdelho Verde 2012

Both are really nice, Verdelho Verde is light and crisp, Sauvignon Blanc is medium-bodied-full-of-aroma great wine!

Especially, Sauvignon Blan 2012 is fantastic!!
It is one of the best Sauvignon Blan I've ever tasted!


第4回ワインテイスティングパーティも楽しく行うことが出来ました！

今回はディープウッズエステートの白を2本用意しました

ディープウッズ ソーヴィニョンブラン 2012
ディープウッズ ヴェルデーリョヴェルデ 2012

 ヴェルデーリョヴェルデはやや珍しい品種でワインテイスティング会では初お目見えです

さっぱりした軽口で林檎のような酸味、フローラルの香りもありとても繊細なイメージでした

ソーヴィニョンブランは今まで飲んだものとまるで違う味わいでした！

フレッシュな柑橘類、甘いフルーツ、花のような香りが入り混じってなんともおいしそう！！

複雑な香りと味わいなんですが、同時にとてもフレッシュで本当においしいワインでした♪

Wine Tasting Party @ Home Report

I held the third Wine Tasting Party @ Home on 1st of July!
One of the girls joining all my parties is leaving Australia this weekend since she finishes her Working Holiday for 2 years, so I made this party would be very very SWEET for her.

I chose  three Australian sweet wines
Banrock Station Moscato 2012
Warburn Estate Rumours Moscato 2013
Brown Brothers Cienna 2012



Then, about food!
We had Sushi and Salmon salad and Chocolate Roulade!

We tasted wines for dessert after Sushi.
All food and wines were very very nice!




第3回ワインテイスティング会はオーストラリアのスイートワインをテーマに開催しました！
甘口白の王道モスカートとオーストラリア原産の甘口赤のシエナ。


今回はお寿司とサラダ、チョコレートのロールケーキをおともに♪


ワインがすべて甘口なので、先に食事をとってからデザートワインとしてテイスティングをしました。

今回の一番人気はWarburn Estate Rumours Moscato 2013

甘みのなかに、果実の軽い酸味と草原に咲く黄色い花のような（なんて情緒的な表現なのでしょう！？とある参加者のコメントです★）軽やかなさわやかさがあってとても飲みやすくあっという間に飲みきってしまいました♪



赤のシエナはカベルネソーヴィニョンとスペイン原産のSumoll（読み方はスモール？）をかけ合せた、オーストラリアで作られている品種です。



ワインテイスティング会を開催することで幅広い品種のワインを飲むようになって、ワインの楽しみがますます増えました。
今後も色々なテーマでワインテイスティング会を開催したいとおもいます♪

逃しかけていたピノノワール

飲みたいワインを見つけたとき

私の場合、一番に考えるのは予算なので　→予算に関する記事
（潤沢な経済力があればこんな悩みはないのにっ！）

そのワインが$40くらいだと慎重になってしまいます


たとえば、めぼしいワインがあまり見つからないときは$50以下であれば迷わず購入しますが

あれもこれもとなっている時は、その1本かその他の2~3本かで迷うのです


数ヶ月前から気になっていたワインがありました

Bay of Fires Pinot Noir 2011　です

ピノノワールが好きなのと2012年、2013年のコンクールで金賞とトロフィーを獲得しているので

買っちゃおうかな～どうしようかな～と少し悩んでおりました

というのも、Deep Woods Estate のワインを購入する予定があったからです

予算の約2か月分をそちらにかけるつもりでいたのでもうちょっと考えよう・・・と買わずじまいでいました

ある日、ふとネットショップでBay of Fires Pinot Noir を検索してみたら

どこもかしこも売り切れ状態になっていました

もちろんBay of Fires のセラーも

その時のショックときたら！

自分でも驚くほどがっかりしてしまって、「何で買っておかなかったんだろう」と大後悔・・・

ワインに惹きつけられたひとつの理由がまさにこれなんですけどね

[今飲まないと今後もう出会えないかもしれない]

今後は大好きなピノノワールは少し値がはっても買おうと心に決めたのでした


そして、昨日のこと

ワイン会で使うワインの調達に出かけ、その帰りに大手チェーンのワインショップに立ち寄りました

先月の誕生日にバースデーカードと$10のチケットが送られてきていたからです

ピノノワールでも購入しようとコーナーへ向かい、物色すること数分・・・

なんだか見覚えのあるボトルがあるじゃないですか

あれあれ？　Bay of Fires Pinot Noir ？？

ネットでは売り切れだったのに店頭に残ってる！！！

大興奮を必死で隠し、1本手に取りレジへスキップ♪　（隠せてないね）

在庫2本あったんですが欲張るのもよくないしお財布にも響くし1本だけ購入・・・

いつ開けようかな～♪

Wine Tasting Party @ Home Report

I held my second Wine Tasting Party @ Home on 4th of June!
I chose Great Australian Whites, Eden Valley Riesling, Hunter Valley Semillon and Pemberton Sauvignon Blan/ Semillon blend. Each one has very different character so that everyone could find wine they like most.
I opened one bottle of red (Smithbrook Merlot 2010) because I thought if someone would like to enjoy red wine as well, but after tasted very nice whites, nobody wanted to drink dry red!

The same as last time, after tasting wines we had some finger food and enjoyed chatting.

Having held this party, I found one difficult point. It is about Food.
I am not a good cook, I have budget, there are not many options. 
It will be a similar line up every time which is boring, isn't it?
What should I do?

第２回ワインテイスティングパーティを６/４に開催しました！
今回は”オーストラリアの白”をテーマに
エデンヴァレーのリースリング
ハンターヴァレーのセミヨン
ペンバートンのソーヴィニョンブランとセミヨンのブレンド
を用意しました。

それぞれまったく違うキャラクターを持つワインだったので、参加者それぞれ好みに合ったワインを見つけ、楽しむことが出来ました。
もしかしたら赤も飲みたい人がいるかもと思い１本私のセラーから開けたのですが、テイスティングした白がどれも素晴らしいものだったので赤がちょっときつく感じましたね。

前回と同じくテイスティングの後はおつまみといっしょにおしゃべりタイム！
今回初めて参加された方が２名いらっしゃいましたが、恋バナに花が咲きあっという間に時間がすぎていきました。とても楽しかったです♪

第２回も無事終えてほっとしてはいますが、ひとつ気になることがあります。
それはテイスティングの後にだすおつまみのことです。
私自身料理は得意ではないのと、予算が決まってしまっているので毎回似たような品揃えになってしまいます。
ワインに合わせる軽いおつまみといえばチーズやクラッカー、オリーブなのでいいのでしょうが、なんとなく毎回同じようなものではつまらないかなあとも思い・・・。
どうしたものかと考え中です。

次回のテーマとあわせて、おつまみについても工夫しないとなあと思います。

Wine on a Badget/ ワインの予算

I get excited when I find some wines I wish to drink, at that time, I meet a small problem ... BUDGET!
There are too many to buy, anyway I can't drink nor cellar so many wines.
So here is my budget on wine.

• $100 per month, about 3 to 5 bottles
• up to $50 per bottle

That's it ...
I think it is maximum to drink for me.
Having held Wine Tasting Session, I could open more wines though!



日々、飲みたいワインを見つけるたびにワクワクするのですが

あれもこれもと購入できないのが悩ましい！

きりが無いですからね～

そんなに飲めるわけでもないし、ワインセラーも持ってないので

というわけで、予算を設けて”やりすぎない”ようにしてます


わたしのワインにかける予算は・・・

• 1ヶ月あたり約$100、3~5本程度
• １本あたり$50を超えるワインは買わない

といったところです

個人で飲むには（量的にも）これくらいが限度かなあと思っています


ワインテイスティング会を開催できれば

もっと色々なワインを味わうことができるので

A multiple award winner, this gorgeous Barossa Semillon is showing complex aromas of nuts, lanolin, beeswax and honeyed overtones. The palate is fresh with wonderful breadth and lemony/honeyed aged characters. Serving it up to those in the Hunter Valley quite nicely!
